What is Art Therapy?
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that integrates creative expression and psychological exploration. It offers a way to communicate experiences and emotions that may be difficult to express in words. Through active creation—using materials such as paint, clay, collage, or drawing—clients can externalize inner experiences, reflect on them, and discover new perspectives and insights.
The focus of art therapy is not on artistic skill or the finished artwork, but on the process of creating and the discoveries that arise through it. The act of making art invites curiosity, presence, and a deeper awareness of one’s thoughts, feelings, and embodied experience.
I work from a client-centred, transpersonal, and existential orientation, recognizing both the psychological and spiritual aspects of human experience. In our sessions, art becomes both a mirror and a bridge—a way of seeing oneself more clearly and engaging with life more fully.
Art therapy can help you to:
Express and explore emotions safely and symbolically
Process grief, trauma, and life transitions
Reconnect with creativity and purpose
Deepen self-awareness and personal insight
Cultivate resilience, mindfulness, and spiritual well-being
Ultimately, art therapy invites you into a dialogue with your inner world through the act of creation. It offers a space for reflection, healing, and transformation—where the process of making becomes a path toward greater authenticity and wholeness.
